MKSensation 1.1.1

The MKSensation is a player's live gigging module designed to provide the essential sounds needed for live sessions, gigs, church services, or studio sessions. Its straightforward layout, user-friendly sliders, and simple functionality have contributed to the success of our PC version. Unlike other modules that come with a splash page and an overwhelming number of sounds, the MKSensation is designed for instant layering and inspiration. Consider it your go-to rompler packed with the sounds you use most frequently. With our reputation for sampling, you can expect these sounds to be warm, rich, and incredibly realistic. You won't believe they're coming from your iPad.

History:

Our origins lie in the world of gospel music. In the past, we would set up multiple keyboards and modules, layer them together using elaborate MIDI routing setups, and have all our presets ready for live worship. Our setup included a warm acoustic piano, a semi-realistic CP80 piano, lush strings, a warm pad with filter cutoff, an expressive tine sound, powerful synth brass, and classic brass tones. These staple sounds allowed us to tackle any gig, service, studio session, or performance. When you go to a music store to try out a new synth, what sounds do you end up playing the most? Pianos, keys, strings, horns, and synth sounds – that's exactly what this module is all about. You can layer as many sounds as your iPad's CPU allows for instant inspiration.

Operation:

• Click on a sound button to activate the sound (Red LCD On)
• Click the Green Light in the top-right corner to activate the global effects section
• The left side of the module displays the effects to be activated and their levels
• Exception for EP 1 and EP2: The insert FX chorus is not used. The sounds are replaced with the actual sample of the chorus from the MKS unit

9. Brass - Warm brass section with Mod Wheel LFO
10. Synth - Polyphonic synth with Mod Wheel LFO
11. Strings - Warm cinematic strings
12. Pad - Warm pad sound

CPU and Processing:

CPU performance depends on your iPad model. Remember not to overdo it! Activating 5-6 sounds and playing full glissandos may max out your CPU. Also, there is an inverse relationship between lower latency and CPU usage. If you want to reduce latency (the time between pressing the keys and hearing the sound), you may not be able to play as many sounds simultaneously. Finding the right balance is key. In our tests with an iPad 4th generation, we successfully stacked up to six sounds at a buffer size of 512. Naturally, newer iPad models perform better (except for the iPad 3).
